Message from the Mudeford Lifeboat Funday committee
The Mudeford Lifeboat Fun Day, the day we all join together on The Quay to watch the Raft Race, see the Air display, thrill at the Lifeboat and Helicopter demonstrations and have a ‘Fun Day’ raising money to help keep our very own lifeboat station ‘afloat’.
Yes, all the money we raise will be going towards the upkeep of Mudeford Lifeboat and its Station. In 2009 with the help of yourselves and all our generous sponsors, we managed to raise over £21.500 from money taken on the Funday and at the Late Summer Ball towards the £60,000 it costs to run Mudeford Lifeboat Station for a year.
The men and women who run our station are all volunteers and your support at the Fun Day is a fantastic way of showing your appreciation toward this great team.
Thank you all very much indeed.

Message from the Mudeford Lifeboat Operations Manager
Mudeford Lifeboat responds to emergencies on the water, and our area of responsibility lies between Bournemouth Pier, The Needles and Milford on Sea - although last year we responded to incidents in Studland Bay and Poole Harbour entrance as well.
The boat is an Atlantic 85 rigid inflatable type with twin 115 hp engines, and carries a range of communication, navigation and radar equipment. It carries a crew of four and has been designed as an inshore lifeboat to operate in all conditions.
The lifeboat is launched from a specially designed carriage pushed by an amphibious tractor, the whole rig being housed in a new boathouse. You will see the boat on the water during the day, and visitors are welcome to visit the lifeboat station to see the equipment and facilities.
The crew are all volunteers who live within a very short distance of the station, on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Most "shouts" are initiated by HM Coastguard who page the duty launching authority, who alerts the crew. The boat is normally on the water and responding within 12 minutes of the initial call. The crew is supported by volunteers tractor drivers, shore helpers and an admin team - and the station is fortunate in having a very active Lifeboat Guild who work tirelessly to raise money for the charity.
In addition the Mudeford Lifeboat Funday Committee have raised many thousands of pounds for us through this superb annual family day out.
The crew come from all walks of life, all have gone through the Institution's arduous training system over 12 months, and are expected to keep their skills current by frequent exercise events. Families are a very important feature of any lifeboat station, and here at Mudeford the families play a full role in station life.
Please feel free to visit the station and talk to the crew, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
